Check out the amazing intiatives and volunteering opportunities that Rotaract Club of York University has in store for the upcoming months!

Homeless Shelter Visit

Approximately once a month, Rotaract Club of YorkU and its executives head downtown to volunteer at Good Shepherd. With an anticipated turnout of between 10 - 20 volunteers, Rotaract Club of YorkU helps prepare the beds and accommodations for those seeking shelter during the night. A few members also help in the soup kitchen, preparing the food. A shout out to Rebecca Ferguson for making all of this possible!

International Trip

This year, the Rotaract Club of York University is planning to go abroad to Costa Rica and get hands-on charitable experience in developing nations. It will be the first international trip that the YorkU Rotaract Club has planned and hopes to sponsor a select number of students. Not only will this trip be a life changing event for the people being supported but also the individuals who are volunteering their time and efforts into this charitable cause. Quilt for Polio

It's time to bring together all Rotaract and Rotary clubs in DIstrict 7070 to take a stand and raise awareness for erradicating polio. The District 7070 Quilt for Polio is designed to help raise awareness of the ongoing Rotaract initiative to eliminate traces of Polio worldwide. All Rotaract and Rotary clubs in District 7070 will collaborate on producing quilt patches, which the Rotaract Club of York University will sew together to form a quilt. Our goal is to bring clubs of District 7070 together to raise awareness of Polio and to create a quilt that can be taken on any international humanitarian-based trips that District 7070 may attend.

Case Competition 2.0

Last year, Rotaract held its first annual Conflict Resolution Case Competition and it was a great success! However, this year, the executive team is planning on hosting a BIGGER and BETTER competition.

Pushing the limits of young individuals, this year's competition will include a Case Competition Workshop which will educate students on how to think critically, analyze cases and present with confidence, maximizing their chances at winning the grand prize -- a networking lunch with a Rotary industry professional of their choice. Scheduled to be held on February 21, 2015, this Case Competition will also have ample networking opportunities with industry professionals from various fields along with various workshops to enhance one's critical thinking abilities.

Mark your calendars and stay tuned for more information and registration details!
