In recognition of her work, Ajmera was chosen by The Rotary Foundation Trustees to receive the 2013-14 Rotary Foundation Global Alumni Service to Humanity Award. She will receive the honor at the Rotary International Convention in Sydney on 3 June. |  Cape Rotary Club Celebrates 50 YearsIn today's segment we look at Cape Rotary Club, 50 years in the making! Hosting the 50th anniversary at the yacht club was to remember the Rotary Club's origins and to reminisce on how far it has come. The mission of the club is to give all the money it receives back to Cape Coral in ways that will gather and benefit the community. But the biggest news was the $101 million pledged to polio eradication. Read more about this great accomplishment click here. |  Rotaract Helps MonctonAfter the everlasting manhunt which took place in Moncton, New Brunswick three RCMP officers lost their lives in the line of duty. This was where the Rotary Club of Moncton stepped in, in partnership with Mobile Giving Foundation and the RCMP Foundation. Together they set up a program which allows mobile phone users to donate money to the families of the slain officers! In the first 30 minutes $12 000 were raised! |  Peace RideCheck out this week's Rotary in the news segment! Rotary teams up with museum for Peace Ride! The Portage Rotary Club has teamed up with the Fort la Reine Museum to hold a Motorcycle Peace Ride on Sunday. The organizations are splitting the funds raised, the museum’s portion will go towards the cost of the peace exhibit and the Rotary Club’s portion will go towards international peace projects. |
