RYLA District 7070 Conference

The RYLA District 7070 Conference was a week long event hosted at Loyalist College to empower our youth into becoming well-rounded leaders from May 10-16, 2014. From various workshop and classroom sessions, to icebreakers and networking, RYLA District was an amazing learning experience for the Rotaract Club of YorkU members that were sponsored to attend. They learned about different DISC profiles, various types of leaders, and had the chance to meet both the current and upcoming governor of District 7070! To learn more click here

Testimonies from Rotaract

"RYLA consisted of recognized student leaders from all throughout District 7070. RYLA had very insightful lectures which helped everyone figure out the type of person they were, with as well tips and suggestions on becoming a better leader. The week was designed with games and activities hosted by Rotaractors and Rotarians which had been designed to challenged conventional thinking. It is easy to say that everyone came out a better leader after RYLA 2014." - Dishan Ratnajothi

"From making friends, learning about leadership, having top quality food and engaging in fun games and activities, RYLA has undoubtly been a memorable experience! Over the week at RYLA, not only have I developed as a better leader, but I have become an even better team player! I encourage everyone to experience RYLA once, as it is an experience you will remember forever!" - Kawaldeep Jutla

"5 days of learning, games, and fun. RYLA was hands down one the best experiences I have had to learn more about myself as well as practical day-to-day tips on communicating with other people and dealing with a variety of situations. The things I have learned will definitely stick with for a long time. It amazes me how in a matter of 5 days, 30 strangers became very close friends. I am so grateful I had the opportunity to take part in RYLA and definitely recommend it to people looking to become better and brighter leaders." - Preethu Kaduppil

"This year, I had the chance to program assist the RYLA coordinators alongside Melanie Burton. Over the course of 6 days, we developed a close bond towards the 28 students who were chosen for this leadership program. We planned scavenger hunts, improv skits, pot painting and planting, and so much more. It was an unreal experience to see complete strangers grow close but to also see individuals go through personal development was certainly rewarding! Definitely recommend students to attend if they have the opportunity to do so." - Weiting Xu, Organizer
